- Currently, GLASS IS NOT RECYCLABLE. The town of Brookhaven has various glass collection sites.
- Normal garbage pickup is every Tuesday and Friday early morning. Recycling is picked up on Wednesdays.
- All plastic garbage bags are to be placed into a trash can. Do not leave any plastic bags at curbside so as not to attract any stray animals from tearing them apart.
- Garbage cans are to be put out after 5PM during Standard Time and 6PM during Daylight Savings Time on the eve of the garbage pickup day.
- BULK PICKUP Day is Friday morning. Nothing can be placed at the curb until after 5pm on Thursday evening. Residents need to call the carting company to arrange for pickup BEFORE any debris is left on the street, this includes furniture carpeting, bedding, etc.
It is recommended that if you have any new appliances delivered and old ones removed that the delivery company take the old appliance away. If that's not possible, you must call the carting company for pick up. *The present company is Winters Brothers (516) 301-3500.
